RMH Offers Support To Those Affected By Cancer In Our Community 01/12/09 Reynolds Memorial Hospital today announces plans to develop a resource room for the American Cancer Society to offer assistance to people in out community whose lives have been affected by cancer. This room will be one of only two offered throughout the state of West Virginia.
Starting February 2nd, the RMH and ACS Recourse Room will be available from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Mondays on the 3rd floor of RMH to answer questions, provide information and direct people to current ACS programs. Volunteer training will begin January 12th.
“If everyone in our community could help just one person – a friend, a neighbor or a loved one, we could, as a whole, dramatically change the lives of people in our community,” said Susie Hinerman, Coordinator of the RMH and ACS Resource Room. “Reynolds Memorial Hospital and the American Cancer Society have developed a goal to make resources available and provide information that people in our community can use.”
The American Cancer Society offers various programs to help those affected by cancer including: Look Good…Feel Better, Road to Recovery, Man to Man and Reach to Recovery. The American Cancer Society also offers a toll free number, 1-800-227-2345, available 24/7 to provide information and answer questions about cancer, advocacy, treatments, side effects, coping with cancer, medicines, pain control, clinical trials, prevention, screening, nutrition, legal issues and much more.
